Skin (2008) Anthony Fabian directs this drama based on the true story of Sandra Laing (Sophie Okonedo/Ella Ramangwane), a black girl born to two white Afrikaaner parents (Sam Neill and Alice Krige) in South Africa during the apartheid era. A genetic throwback to the mixed blood of previous generations of her family, Sophie's skin colour causes problems for her bigoted father and her all-white school, which expels her despite her family's attempts to have her classified as white. Later in life, Sandra again causes shockwaves when she decides to marry a black man and have herself reclassified as black.

Sacco i Vanzetti to film z 1971 roku w reżyserii Giuliano Montaldo, Gian Maria Volontè i Riccardo Cucciolla, przedstawiający wydarzenia mające miejsce podczas jednego najgłośniejszych i najbardziej skandalicznych procesów w historii USA. Był wystawiany na 24. Festiwalu Filmowym w Cannes, gdzie Richard Cucciolla (grający Sacco) zdobył nagrodę dla najlepszego aktora. Ścieżka dźwiękowa z tego filmu należy do najlepszych w historii kina, autorstwa samego Enio Morione przy śpiewie Joan Baez. Jednak graniczy z cudem zobaczenie tego filmu w mainstreamowych mediach. Film ten jest bowiem opowieścią o skazaniu na śmierć, w swingowanym procesie, dwóch włoskich anarchistów. Tytułowi Nicola Sacco i Bartolomeo Vanzetti przybyli do USA w 1908, poznali się w 1916. Brali czynny udział w ruchu robotniczym i anarchistycznym, walcząc o lepsze płace i humanizację stosunków pracy. W 1920 w trakcie organizacji kolportażu ulotek anarchistycznych zostali zatrzymani pod zarzutem działalności godzącej w dobro publiczne. Dodatkowo oskarżono ich o napad rabunkowy i dwa morderstwa (Fredericka Parmentera i Alessandra Berardellego), które miały miejsce 15 kwietnia 1920 r. w South Baintree, Massachusetts. W trakcie napadu zrabowano 15766 dolarów i 51 centów, przeznaczonych na wypłaty dla robotników. Mimo posiadania przez nich alibi i wątpliwych dowodów, w atmosferze powszechnej nagonki (prowadzący proces sędzia Webster Thayer nazywał Sacco i Vanzettiego anarchistycznymi bękartami) skazano ich 14 lipca 1921 na śmierć na krześle elektrycznym. W filmie doskonale uchwycono klimat tzw. „Red Scare”, (czyli nagonki na komunistów, socjalistów, związkowców i anarchistów a także pacyfistom) i rasizm, którym przesiąknięte były organa „sprawiedliwości”. Organizowane są deportacje, prowokacje, inwigilacja i nagonka medialna na rosnącą w siłę lewicę. Po tych wydarzeniach ruch anarchistyczny w USA już nigdy nie był tak silny... Okres ten nazwał biskup Williams z Nowego Jurku „najhaniebniejszą kartą w dziejach. Ameryki",- a Ralston, adwokat, oświadczył przed Komisją Parlamentarną: „Stoczyliśmy się do poziomu ochrany rosyjskiej za czasów carskich. Niepodobna upaść jeszcze niżej".

Auf Nummer sicher? Sandra Harkow (33) ist freiberufliche Journalistin in Berlin. Sie ist auch allein erziehende Mutter von Lutz (6), seit sich dessen Vater einer anderen Frau zu-gewendet hat. Seit kurzem lebt sie mit Lutz wieder bei ihrem Vater Walter (59) - das ist billiger und soll sie bei ihren Mutterpflichten entlasten. Sandra hat endlich wieder einen bezahlten Auftrag. Sie soll fuer den "Interessenverband RFID" (das steht fuer "Radio Frequency Identification") einen Werbefilm fuer die neue Micro-Chip-Technologie herstellen. Der Film wird einen Fachkongress in der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften eroeffnen, an dem hochrangige Politiker teilnehmen werden. Nur wenige Wochen nach der Veranstaltung werden im Bundestag und vor der EU-Kommission wichtige Beschluesse zum Thema RFID vorgelegt werden - die Veranstaltung ist also dazu gedacht, die Politiker von der neuen Technologie zu ueberzeugen. Nicht zuletzt geht es um einen Milliardenauftrag fuer die Hersteller, wenn der Chip nicht nur in den Reisepass, sondern auch in den Personalausweis integriert werden wird. Als Sandra mit dem Auto unterwegs ist, steigt an einer Ampel ploetzlich ein fremder Mann (Jonas) in ihren Wagen. Er will sie warnen: die neue Ueberwachungstechnologie berge grosse Gefahren fuer die Gesellschaft. Sie solle keinen Werbefilm machen, sondern einen Film, der ueber die Gefahren der neuen Technologien aufklaert! Jonas wird verhaftet, kann sich nicht ausweisen und wird in die Psychiatrie eingeliefert. Dort behauptet er, ein Zeitreisender aus dem Jahr 2020 zu sein. Sandra glaubt ihm zwar zuerst kein Wort, faengt aber an zu recherchieren und stoesst auf eine Menge interessante Informationen... The Sri Lankan Civil War is an ongoing conflict on the island-nation of Sri Lanka. Since the year 1983, there has been on-and-off civil war, predominantly between the government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE, also known as the Tamil Tigers), a separatist militant organization who fight to create an independent state named Tamil Eelam in the North and East of the island. The origins of the Sri Lankan civil war lie in sharp disagreements over language, access to universities, and riots between Sri Lanka's majority Sinhalese, mostly Buddhist, and minority Tamil, mostly Hindu, community.
