In the process of moving the site to a new and faster server, it seems we've broken the forum login. Until we've figured this out, the forums will have to stay read-only. Sorry about that.

Beta-Testers wanted

Beta-Testers wanted

Postby Martin on Sun May 06, 2007 2:33 am

We've been yappin' about it for a long time, now the day is drawing near: we're going live with the new torrent index very shortly. It will come with a whole host of new features, including our own local tracker, RSS feeds, a HTML editor for torrent descriptions, ed2k and magnet links, a PM system, .. and much more.

Now we're asking for your help. The system needs to be beta-tested before it can be released to the general public.

The only prerequisite for taking part is that you've either had an account on the forums for a while, or that you have posted a number of torrents.

We're especially looking for people who, alas, are clinging to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and previous versions, as there's a range compatibility issues to be sorted out. People with better-behaved browsers are also very welcome, though.

If you'd like to be a part of this, please post a short message to this thread, or pm me on the forums. I already gave a number of long-standing forum members access to the special place we set up for this, so if you see that on the forums index, you're already in.

Hi Martin,

I'd be glad to help in anyway. I'm currently working with IE7, but will get back to another PC, running IE6, in a few weeks.

you're really doing some great job here!

greetings,

I have gotten a lot of good stuff from this site...some stuff that has effected my worldview. So big up for that.

I'd love to help out in any way that I can. Sadly I'm on a mac, so I can't participate in round 1. But perhaps I can be put to good use in round 2 :)

I'm down with the beta test

Postby jaquer01 on Sun May 06, 2007 1:06 pm

Sign me up for the beta test.

I'm using Opera (Windoze) but also can check out Microsoft's homage to Opera, IE7 of windows xp-sp2. In case of need I can check out issues with IE 6 -- that's what my computer at work has.

BTW if you need help translating/testing a Spanish interface, I'm up for that, too.

.. and... you're all in. pls refer to the stickies in the new forum that'll pop up for you now in this section.

thanks for the kind words, el dje.
jaquer01 -- i might take you up on that offer to translate the interface (in which case your work would not only benefit this site, but all the people who use the open source tracker software that we're co-developing). anybody else feel like translating?

we're not only looking for IE6 users here. safari is one that hasn't been tested so far as well, for instance. and generally, all input is welcome.

Postby BlindedUK on Sun May 06, 2007 5:36 pm

Hi, gave up windoze, and use (K)ubuntu Fiesty Fawn and Edgy Eft, with firefox, opera and Konquer (the native web browser for KDE)
If this helps, sign me up ;o)

Looks like we're on the same system, BlindedUK. Kubuntu rules. You've got access (independent of that :)

I'm happy to help with the testing. I'm a web developer and have a variety of web browsers.
