I will enjoy watching this, thank you for upping it.
But it is interesting that Naomi Klein does not like it....
Naomi Klein disowns Winterbottom adaptation of Shock Doctrine

She added: "As often happens, we had different ideas about how to tell this story and build the argument. This is Michael's adaptation of my book, and I didn't want there to be any confusion about that. I wish the film success."

I was enthusiastic about seeing the movie myself because I enjoyed watching "The Take". The article isn't very explicit about the reasons of her discontent with Winterbottom's approach.
I thought that the pattern of shock and control didn't need that CIA handbook for torture as a point of reference. The movie made it seem like the CIA interrogation techniques were a historical corner stone, like politicians took a peek at that handbook whenever they didn't know how to control the masses. I think it works great as a figure of speech, as a synecdoche, because it engages the audience, but I felt that using the handbook pointers to draw a parallel between CIA interrogation tactics and large scale politics and economics was too much. There are similarities that are worth mentioning but that's it, they can't work as a theoretical framework.

I tried that, "synecdoche", twice, but it didn't work very well and gave me an upset stomach. I switched over to Synecdouche, and now I feel clean for most of the day !

Never use a big word where a diminutive one will suffice.

This was on OBT some time ago. Right now I don't remember much of it. Lots of interviews etc. But Klein would likely reference the fact that the global South is now coming out of Shock Doctrine's haze and humiliation of the people. In the global North in America, Ireland and Greece, it's just getting going.
I would like to see the new introduction for the paper edition of Shock Doctrine, but haven't seen the update in my library.
