The Senate page who held up a "Stop Harper" sign during last week's throne speech is getting high praise from the king of the political shock protest.
Filmmaker Michael Moore is apparently a big fan of Brigette DePape, 21.
The young woman stepped into the political spotlight Friday when she looked straight at the cameras and held up a handmade sign, designed in the shape of a red stop sign.
She was briskly removed from the Senate chamber and detained by security officials for over an hour before being released without charges. She was also immediately fired.
Page has criticized the Harper government for its priorities and stance on environmental issues.
"I think that we really need to stop Harper's agenda and people need to take to the streets and Canada needs an Arab Spring," she said after her stunt.
Moore, famous for such documentaries as Bowling for Columbine, Roger & Me and Fahrenheit 9/11, was reportedly impressed enough to offer her a job.

how about rights & democracy? how about fraudulent G8/G20 spending? how about making up fake laws and suspending the consitution, throwing innocent protests and even innocent non protesters in temporary jails without charge? how about being found in contempt of parliament for refusing to back up your bullshit claims with documentation, only to come back with the SAME budget...that doesnt say where "cutbacks" are going to be made, and phasing out voter-party subsidies because it's going to create a political culture that will unjustly benefit your political party? how about (re-)appointing senators who quit the senate to run for office and then lose the election?

I think it will take pretty long for the Canadian winter to turn into the Canadian Spring Depape would like.
Here in the US in Wisconsin there was talk of a general strike after all the excitement at the Capitol.
Didn't happen. Unions do not represent or care about non union workers. If they did, there would be no At Will Work Rule in the state of Wisconsin.
