“Documentary Wave – Series 9.11 Ten Years After” (Comments by Yoshihiko Shimizu) From Tuesday September 6th the “Documentary Wave - Series 9.11 Ten Years After” will be broadcast on BS1, starting with “The Voices of 800 People – 9.11 US Citizens’ Accounts” at 11 p.m. The documentary will feature accounts of the terrorist attacks recorded by US citizens that have been archived at the Library of Congress. Some of those citizens who made the recordings were visited and interviewed for the program to look back at what effect the events of 9.11 had on ordinary Americans, as well as how it has changed them ten years later. “American Muslim – Will the Cycle of Hatred End?” on September 7th at 11 p.m. will take an in-depth look at the unsettled Muslim community in America, in light of the Arab Spring Revolution. The program will examine whether the millions of US Muslims can coexist successfully with American society. “The Road to a Surveillance Society – the Course of Patriots’ Freedom” on September 10th at 12 a.m. looks at how the latest surveillance technology is being used to watch American citizens, under the provisions of the Patriot Act. The program will cover the organizations conducting surveillance, as well as talk to a former Pentagon analyst and anti-surveillance citizen groups, to try and discover the truth about the how the US government watches its people.
