Democracy Now! - Ashamed Soldiers Hurl War Medals Back To NATO (May 28, 2012)

requested by redjade

DNow! at the Memorial Day Anti-NATO protest in Chicago. Coverage includes testimony from a number of ashamed US Military Veterans who have come to Chicago to voice their displeasure with NATO and their deadly and globally destabilizing tactics. We watch as soldiers tell their stories and hurl their unwanted war medals back towards where the NATO summit is being held- at times apologizing to the people in countries they have caused death and destruction, and evoking their own rights to heal from psychological trauma. Amy Goodman also interviews Scott Olsen (former soldier who was shot in head with bean bag gun at Occupy protests and nearly killed) and the mother of a soldier who was neglected by the military and wound up committing suicide. Ends off with a Rise Against music video. More-or-less the same footage as was aired on the May 25, 2012 episode.

PLEASE SEED AND ENJOY!!!

I am glad this is now posted as torrent and do not know if the DN! (Democracy Now) program from Memorial is available as active torrent. DN does provide a torrent version at their news site.

Also see Sir, No Sir where the same retunring of medals was done during the Vietnam era.

Sir, No Sir available here:

But unlike Vietnam, I know of no organized effort similar to the underground press via ditto machine and delivered like 'regular newspapers' in bundles as happened in Vietnam. I mentioned this to a friend who passed away a couple years ago. He said he was one of the participants in the underground press. He continued activism the rest of his life and was honored this year.

this is the dnow! torrent, i just aggregated it...they only provide the torrent for 3 or 4 days, but the torrents are still seeded well long after, either by dnow's server or somebodys seedbox. i have a bank of old torrents, are you looking for any day in particular?

No I stream the show every day and do not need any back shows. Check and see if there are seeds for this at TPB and demonoid-- those are the two big ones plus KAT. It may be easier to use magnet links. The smaller the content file, the better.

Thanks for your efforts. It is a very moving report. I have listened to it the first time and then replayed on video since my ability to stream is pretty feeble for bandwidth.
