I'd like to hear some discussion on this one. It was going a while back on Demonoid.
David Harvey (recently on Democracy Now) has a book called "Rebel Cities" which I am reading. I'm also engaged in contesting the right of this town where I live to 'commodify' as Harvey calls it, the last bit of open space designated as a public park in the center of town. All I can do is write letters to the paper and such. The residents do not see it as a significant issue of inhibiting the right to assemble.
Harvey references a 1970's author who talked about 'the right to the city.' This is not normally on the minds of planners, policymakers, architects or the others I call transient professionals.
I can d/l it in a few days but my bandwidth is tied up with a couple other things right now.
