In 2000, Israeli and Palestinian delegations met in Camp David for a peace summit, under the patronage of the Clinton administration. These talks went on for two weeks, but eventually ended with failure - giving way to the escalation in violence we are still witnessing today.
This touching and intelligent film by Israeli director Avi Nesher follows a Russian-born Israeli belly dancer trying to build a show with a group of Palestinian musicians for an upcoming performance. The documentary is interwoven with interviews with the politicians and statesmen who took part in the Camp David talks, and tries to analyze the summit\'s collapse from both an analytical point of view and an emotional one.
A highly recommended film for anyone interested in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, that can shed some light on this calamity from a humane level.
The film is mostly in English, Hebrew and some Arabic, with English subtitles hardcoded throughout. Unfortunately, there were no additional subtitle options with my copy.
