ran across this and thought I would upload it here... it\'s a pretty short interview ~15 mins, and there\'s nothing particularly special about it .. it\'s pretty much the same ol\' Chomsky thoughts and opinions on the failed state of affairs in American democracy, how to deal with terrorism properly and effectively and morally, and how American/Israeli policies in the Middle-East has been contributing to the radicalization in the region for years, and more recently and more visibly, how American invasion of Iraq has only inflamed the Middle-East and helped Al-Qaeda. It\'s mothing shocking or earth-shattering to most at this point.. but Chomsky has been saying this from the beginning. Plus, it\'s always good to see good ol\' Noam fighting the good fight.. even though he is a weary old man by now and his age is showing. Who knows how much more time he has.. and there is no one out there who can replace him. It\'s sad to watch this fierce, lone dissenting voice fade slowly like this even while his entire thesis about the institutional failures of American mass-media and American \"democracy\" have been demonstrated perfectly in the immoral, criminal and tragic case-study that was the American imperial war of aggression against Iraq. As an activist, and I mean this to provoke thought and discussion and not to insult this brilliant and exquisitely moral man, one would have to conclude Chomsky\'s work has been a failure because the people he needs to most influence and educate are the American people themselves who continue to vote for one greedy, vicious, immoral and mass-murdering government after another, and continue to validate their government\'s policies by voting for them repeatedly and refusing to make any real or substantial changes to their system of government and power-structures that allow and push America to pursue its belligerant, destructive and greedy policies. Sure, Chomsky has helped open the eyes of people all around the world to American foreign policy antics and the real, self-serving reasons that really motivate American foreign policy and American military aggression that sharply contradict the offical doctrine and flowery rhetoric of \"good intentions\" and \"freedom and democracy\", and especially in the 3rd world who have had to bear most of the cost, in economic terms and in lives, of American policies, but where it most matters, i.e., in America, the country has gotten even more insane, lunatic, dysfuntional, greedy, corrupt, and right-wing since the time Chomsky started his activism during the late 60s to end that other vicious, criminal and immoral American war in Vietnam. Anyway.. end of speech.. ------ Al-Jazeera (English) Capped 27th April 2007 Riz Khan interview with Noam Chomsky Capped by: Ognir ConspiracyCentral
