North Korea - A Day in the Life Full Version with extras

Seeds0 Seeds Leechers2 Leechers
1.33 GB

In this documentary, the family of Hong Sun Hui takes us through the daily life
of North Korea, country of the Beloved Leader Kim Jong Il.

Happily the people sing about him as their Great Great Happiness. From their
faces we would guess that their feeling is joy all over. Or is this simply
propaganda beyond their will?

This film presents a North Korean family progressing through an 'average' day.
There is no narration, but the filmmaker gives a point to the presentation through
his use of film techniques and soundtrack. In order to get this sort of access,
Mr. Fleury did have to make concessions to the DPRK government, and its clear that
they are putting their best face forward here. However, there is a jarring dissonance
between what they must think is their "best face" and what many international viewers
would probably see as a grim, claustrophobic, and stultifying life.

A true eye-opener about the most isolated country in the world!

This torrent also contains the extras that were added in the original DVD
release. These are the following:

a) Dutch News Reports: These are reports that director Pieter Fleury submitted
to the Dutch news and appeared on Dutch television in 2003. They are about the
economy, military policy, and the social and political system in North Korea.

b) Impressions from North Korean TV: These are a few short clips recorded from
North Korean TV, to give you an idea of what North Koreans are watching .

c) Interview with Pieter Fleury: An interview with the Dutch director, in which
he explains how the documentary came about and tells about his stay in North Korea.

d) Screening in Pyongyang: This is a report from when Pieter Fleury visited
North Korea for a second time to show his documentary to the people that were in
his film and to ask about their opinions about it.

e) Trailers: The trailers that were used to bring the film to the attention of
the Dutch and international public. The Dutch trailer is hard-subtitled, while
the English trailer requires external English or French subtitles.
