What does top model Gisele Bündchen and rapper Jay-Z in common with professional investors such as Jim Rogers and politicians in Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar and China? Doubts concerning the Dollar and a preference for the Euro! Why? A Advancing vision like the drama entitled: “The Day that the Dollar Falls”.
Do we live on a bubble? Is it possible for the heavily indebted American economy to collapse and take all of us down in a free fall with it? Have the days of the dollar as a world currency been counted? Is it really unimaginable that we will see the time of the Great Depression in 1929 repeating itself?
VPRO Backlight and Dutch national newspaper NRC Handelsblad present this 'what if' scenario. What if the dollar collapses? Fiction meets facts in this 24 hour scenario. At 9AM CET a Singapore trader is ordered to sell a large amount of dollars, which sends off the enormous downfall of the dollar. This film shows the results for the world economy every following hour. It ends in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), where the only currency accepted by a taxi driver is sigarettes. Seems like propaganda. For instance, any number of what-if scenarios are possible to be created by 'filmmakers' of the establishment. The dollar HAS already fallen; with the current so-called 'crisis' in home loans being entirely generated by the bankers - I don't see any Taxi drivers accepting (mostly illegally imported) cigarettes as payment.
While all world currency could 'collapse' tomorrow, a dark wish of doomsayers, and perhaps one of luddites, the bankers, mostly situated in Europe, do not want to see this happen to their own home turf. Where would they get their caviar and fine tea? It was the old elite, as the central bankers of EUROPE who setup the USA Federal Reserve Corporation, the 'Fed', to raid the wealth of the USA. In doing so, they have done a fine job. In any case, it is the establishment running itself. Those players like Cheney have long since moved their investments to Euro-denomination; while participating in bombing Saddam for doing the same thing with Iraq's assests.
There are more forces in play which can be mentioned here, however, this currency shift is largely a play of the elites.
People of the USA have only to blame for their shitty living conditions: poisoned water and food, and irritating 'Jesus is coming' fuck-all attitude - themselves.
