He ruled with an iron fist, treating his people like grist for the mill of power and threatening the world with his expansionist fantasies. One of the most influential and notorious leaders of the 20th century, he was likely also the greatest murderer of history, sending an estimated 20 million people to their deaths.
"Stalin: Man of Steel" is a multi-faceted portrait of the man who succeeded Lenin as the head of the Soviet Union. With a captivating blend of period documents, newly-released information, newsreel and archival footage and interviews with experts, the program examines his rise to power, deconstructs the cult of personality that helped him maintain an iron grip over his vast empire, and analyzes the policies he introduced, including the deadly expansion of the notorious gulags where he banished so many of his countrymen to certain death.

As one politically nurtured in the anarchist and Trotskyist traditions, i have no love for Stalin. But even if he could be blamed for 20 million deaths, that's less than the number of excess deaths each year due to U.S.-imposed economic policies in the oppressed nations.
Stalin's greatest crime was to subordinate the world Communist movement to the needs of the Soviet Union, thus facilitating the continuation of imperialist capitalist rule in most of the world.

NimChimsky, you stupid ignorant as$h@le. You really ARE a chimpsky, mimicking anything you hear to vent your own failures, the energy that you should use defending the interests of the nation and the free-loving world. You'd amount to something then, but here, nothing. Just stupidity.
Stalin did not further Capitalism, nor did he subordinate the Chinese Communist movement. He won their respect, but also modeled a style they took and fashioned in their own way. There was no subordination.
The US economic sanctions are part of UN actions against nations who threaten the rule of the people through either direct or representative governments supported by truly free elections. Not like in Iran.
The US is the leader in taking out the enemy in the new war of the anti-free against the free. Which side are you on? There is no guessing here.

Aside from his skills at vacuous name-calling, recraig2 is so incoherent and unable to express an idea clearly that it's hard to figure out if he's a Stalinist, a neocon, or something else. But since Stalin shares a great deal of the responsibility for the formation of IsraHell, and especially sabotaging leftist resistance to that episode of settler-colony formation, I suppose that neocons do have reason to admire Stalin or, at least, thank him!

Incoherence exists due to the vacuous cavity in your brain. Espousal of doctrine does not indicate any living thoughts. Combinations of half-words together do not constitute creativity (IsraHell). Neither does labeling. Name-calling is far more appropriate in context of your ranting about Stalin. I knew a wacko job who visited a local Plasma center where I worked in college and you say similar things to him. His were also connections to anything and everything, without substance or just cause. They had him doped up to keep him safe. Alan, was colorful too. We had to throw him out one day, because he wouldn't listen to the nurses who asked him to stop masturbating in the clinic group room. We unplugged his I.V. and escorted him out as he zipped up his pants. No one ever listened to his ranting either.
Ah, my corrections, here. You have an audience of one.
