A package of nearly 50 lectures from the legendary Marxist historian, Harvey Goldberg. These were audio-taped by a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1974. Subjects range from modern European history, anti-colonial and revolutionary struggles of the time, to Left critiques of Stalinism. Once you can get past the poor quality of the tapes or the shrillness of Harvey's voice (you'll learn to love it, trust me), you'll find that these are not ordinary lectures, but the work of sheer brilliance. Harvey was an artist when it came to dramatically presenting information and always scientific (in the dialectical, Marxist sense) when it came to summing up events and their importance. It's a real shame that he isn't so well-known today...
