 Adam Curtis' work deals with fear and control.  In The Century of the Self
he explored how the nephew of Sigmund Freud, Edward Bernays, used Freudian
principles to manipulate the hidden fears and desires of the consumers of mass
media.

  The images used by Curtis are very often from stock footage to convey a point. 
The films are lectures with pictures (pictures where copyright is not an issue is my
guess.)  These blend with the interviews which comprise the original content of
Curtis' research.

  The importance of Curtis' work cannot be underestimated.  Power Of Nightmares was
