The End of America (2008)

The End of America details the ten steps a country takes when it slides toward
fascism. It's not a "lefty"tot tome, rather a historical look at trends in
once-functioning democracies from modern history that are being repeated in our
country today. It gives any reader (or viewer of the lecture) a much-needed
history lesson and constitutional refresher. Most importantly, it puts the recent
gradual loss of civil liberties in the U.S. in a historical context. The average
American might not be alarmed at AT&T selling our private information to the
Bush administration, but when this action is seen as part of a larger series
of erosions and events, a pattern emerges with unfortunate consequences that
become disturbingly clear.

first it says at the top: based on a book by Naomi Wolf
then it says: 'It's not a "lefty"tot tome, rather a historical look'
These days when I see someone online screaming about 'American Fascism' it usually - and absurdly - comes from the far right. Is this true in this case?

i am also reluctant. i have seen the talk by naomi wolf.. it wasn't without relevant observations, but i wonder if the movie is just that speech made into a slideshow/movie reel kind of thing.. in such a case i could do without.
if i remember correctly, naomi wolf harks back as though the US was not a police state at some point and then goes on to tug at patriotic sensibilities.
i would have preferred a full length feature bases on the other napmi's book; naomi wolf, 'shock doctrine'

naomi wolf didn't write 'shock doctrine' naomi klien did. Same first name, same hair - different woman

redjade: I felt exactly the same way, the title and some phrases in the description made my antenna go up at first. The conspiracy right throw the word fascism around a whole lot. But judging from the trailer, this one doesn't fit that category at all.
Looks like a low-budget follow-the-book-tour thing.
lonin: Seems like godcanjudgeme just uploaded a shrinked version..

Yes, he sent me a note on that. I'll get it going.
