In late December 2008, Israeli F-16 bombers launched a series of airstrikes on Hamas in the Gaza Strip, killing dozens of people. Most Americans, distracted by the holidays, didn’t pay much attention to the bombing - until it grew into a three-week-long battle between Hamas’ rockets and Israeli warplanes, and the casualties, particularly among civilians, began to mount.



U.S. media coverage of the attacks concentrated on military strategy or showed distant images of the bombings. But what these news channels did not show were the stories of the ordinary people in Gaza and Israel who were living through the bombardments. The major news outlets also masked the extent of the burgeoning humanitarian crisis in Gaza.



Link TV is one of the few media outlets that can tell the true Gaza story. In this special, we present The Gaza Fixer, part of the Witness series from Al Jazeera English. This episode focuses on Raed Atharmneh, a Palestinian man who helps journalists scoop the best stories in Gaza, but then finds himself in the headlines.
