Hi - this looks really interesting! But - and sorry about this - what's an ovg file? Is that an ObjectVision graphics file? Seems possible it's an ogg file with a typo somewhere...

Thank you - breeson

OGG was my first guess too, but .ovg is not one of the usual extensions (which are .ogg or .ogm). I suspect it's a typo, VLC will probably play it anyway..

The Wiki page on Ogg says ogv is a "new" extension used for ogg video (where "new" means maybe 1.5 to 3.5 years old). It's new to me. Don't have any problems with ogm files but I can't get this one to work - perhaps I need another codec. Please let me know if VLC player works ..

Why don't you try VLC yourself?

Had conflicts with VLC player when I used it before - so if I learn the file plays fine with VLC then I just need to install the proper codec or Direct Show filters. But since I have no problem with other ogg-type files I really just want to know if anyone else can play this file at all - whatever the application.

It plays fine for me in both VLC and MPlayer - it's only that the extension is supposed to be .ogv instead of .ovg, we had a similar discussion here: https://onebigtorrent.org/torrents/4838/Abya-Yala-This-Land-is-Ours

Use Any Video Converter to convert it to whatever file format you like, it's a free program

@Martin - thanks, you're right about the file extension. With the free Direct Show filters from xiph.org the file played on Windows.
@wetworker - thanks too for the suggestion. I found another freeware called MediaCoder (mediacoderhq.com) that works well for me.
Very good documentary too!
