Dalton Trumbo (09.12.1905 – 10.11.1976).
American screenwriter and novelist, blacklisted as one of the Hollywood Ten, a group of film professionals who testified before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) in 1947 during the committee's investigation of Communist influences in the motion picture industry.
Screenwriter of "Spartacus" (amongst others)and author of "Johnny Got His Gun", possibly the most powerful anti-war novel ever written, written after the first world war and banned upon it's release in fear of the effect it would have on the nation.
This documentary follows the life, writing and most importantly the blacklisting of the author as communist and un-american.
With a castlist to make Hollywood's casting assistants envious.

For those who have not yet read "Johnny Got His Gun" I strongly recommend stopping whatever you may be doing, going out and getting hold of a copy, reading it cover to cover, and then reading it again.
