In this interview with BBC NewsNight, Colin Powell starts off with party line defence of current pressure being exerted against Iran over its nuclear program. Powell gets lulled to sleep as the interviewer real intention is to skewer Powell over Iraq. Powell get really hot under the collar as his veracity is impugned. Idiotically, he takes the poor intelligence defense, as to accept this argument you would have to believe that the entire intelligence community of the Western world is stupid, totally incompetent, dishonest or a combination of all three. Hey, if the shoe fits! Since Powell has stated before that he took part actively in the reviewing the raw intelligence data, just where the hell does that really leave him? Powell also does not explain why America persisted in preventing, hampering and then discounted the United Nations inspections which showed WMD did not exist.
