Please note I'm well aware that this is an older program from March 2008. My reasons for posting this are multi-purpose.

First, one of the guests is the very impressive Leo Panitch who also appeared in a very recent episode of The Agenda that I posted here (https://onebigtorrent.org/torrents/5372/TVO--The-Agenda-with-Steve-Paikin-May-1-2009-Leo-Panitch--The-radical-critiques-of-capitalism), whose topic of discussion (radical critiques of capitalism) is very much connected to the topic of discussion in this episode, i.e., critiques of the Third Way aka Clintonite "triangulation"/Blairism aka NeoLiberalism. Leo Panitch is a self-described, unapologetic socialist whose politics leans towards the radical, and he offers a refreshingly unique perspective and learned critique of capitalism that you're just not going to see or hear AT ALL on mainstream American media, or even that often on mainstream Canadian media, which leans mostly towards the centre-right, conservative side, and which has trended continuously to the right as a result of the influence of the ideological and political dominance of American conservatism and the Republican party during the the last 30 years.. until the culmination of the disastrous end-results and complete failure of their ideology and ideas put in practice in the real world that is.

Secondly, this discussion doesn't lose much from being over a year old. If you're interested in this subject, you'll still find this a worthwhile and informative discussion. The topic being discussed is still very relevant today when you consider that Obama and the Democrats have embarked on precisely the path of the Clintonite/Blairite Third Way model (aka NeoLiberalism) that is critiqued in this discussion by trying to resuscitate the old financial order by using the public treasury to bail out the insolvent, corrupt Wall Street institutions and banks. Of course, contrary to what the mainstream media, pundits, intellectuals say, it remains to be seen if that can be achieved.
