The Biography of Josip Broz Tito

Seeds0 Seeds Leechers7 Leechers
199.04 MB

The personal life of Josip Broz Tito, the man who single-handedly kept Yugoslavia together through sheer force of will for 40 years.

Partisan, prisoner, marshal, president, celebrity. In this film, Tito's story is told by the people who knew him best. Colleagues, friends, and servants all give their account of the man who led strife-torn Yugoslavia from German occupation in World War II and walked her down a political tightrope for 40 years, begrudgingly gaining the respect and admiration of both the Soviet and Western superpowers.

"Using the chaos of war in Jugoslavia to establish a ruthless dictatorship."

He also mounted the only successful insurrection against the German occupation in all Europe, and lead the only communist party who stood their ground against Stalin after the war.

Again, you are using distorted information fed to you. Tito spent most of his energies fighting a civil war against anti-communist entities (domobranci, Cetniks, whom were unwarrantedly labeled "collaborators).

Remember the communists were allied till 1941.

The reason for the civil war was that fascism was obviously dead, but Tito's coomunists proved more ruthless.

He must have had a lot of energies then, if he used most of them to fight both the Chetniks and still had enough left to drive the Germans out without any substantial help from the Soviets.

Besides, the Chetniks were approached in the beginning and asked to fight in a united front. All they would have had to do is agree to not return to the monarchy after the liberation. It was their call, they chose to fight the Resistance instead.

It has been documented that the Chetniks who found both the Nazis and the "resistance", that when fighting the Nazis, the resistance rather than supporting the Chetniks attacked them.
