Seeds5 Seeds Leechers0 Leechers
282.36 MB

The Pit Bull Hoax is an educational DVD. Its intended purpose is to remove existing Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) from the law books and prevent any cities, counties and states from enacting BSL.

As of 2009, 41 states have BSL or are considering it in its legislature. Additionally, various insurance companies, housing authorities and other groups have a list of "dangerous dogs" that totals 75 breeds.

Featuring interviews with: Dr. Nicholas Dodman, Jean Donaldson, Dr Ian Dunbar, Diane Jessup and Jane Berkey.

as the uploader, let me be the first to say that this isn't the best made movie. but the content is worth seeing.. besides, it's only 13 minutes long.

Thanks Crpstrbnny, I might check this out but I'm not sure if I'll agree with its message. I know someone biten by one of these dogs. SHe was at a friends house and the next door neighbor either opened their door or the dog just broke loose somehow. No fence, and it goes straight for her ankle. Fortunately only need a few statches. The owner called it off or something. I mean dog catchers used to just need nets, right. Now they need practically full SWAT gear and a gun. Not against your upload though.

psyguy, that's awful and totally an understandable reaction. however, i guess my response, in the context of this movie would be: i hope you'd have the same feelings if the aggressor was a chihuahua or a black lab.
historically pitbulls used to be family dogs and working farm dogs. humans have created individual little monsters. if you look at the pitbulls rescued from michael vick's fight factory you'll find a lot of sweet reformed dogs. my pitbull(and all my friends pit bulls) is extremely sweet and loves people.
basically, any dogs that are neglected, beaten, used for fighting, etc will attack a human. it's unfortunate but people that do those things typically choose pit bulls.

yea, we're basically in the same boat. Bad owners = bad dogs. no matter what breed. dogs can be brainwashed just like people. I used to live near newport news, va, where Vick's from, and reports of dog fights and attacks were almost a daily occurrence. Granted the media's all about fear mongering. the question is how to keep people with the wrong intentions and maturity level from owning them. maybe the film covers this.

read "battle for the mind" / Sargant pretty much lays the case for that last statement. (if you haven't already.)

I think "hoax" it a bit strong. I used to look after / rehabilitate / rehome various mistreated, neglected, sick, etc. abandoned animals. In my experience staffies (stafordshire bull terries) are lovely. They are on dangerous dogs list here, which is somthing I just can't understand -> they are just boisterous. American putpulls, though, are friendly, playful and lots of fun -> but they'll happily "play with something" to death, and they are quite fearless once they get worked up (and none too bright, making them harder to train, to be honest). The worst dogs when neglected are huskies and malamouts, although they are great dogs if they understand that their 'master' is boss. Some breeds, though quite powerful, are never a problem (at least saftey wise), e.g. Samoyeds. Really it does come down to proper care and training. No breed is dangerous if treated appropriately. The proplem is morons who think it is clever to get a 'tough' looking dog, which they then don't train and leave to go stir crazy alone in their yard. Untrained, stir crazy american pitbull + children + no supervision = child with no face. We legislate against breeds because it is easier than legislating against stupidity. ALL purebred dogs have health problems anyway -> scrappy mongrels rule, the health and behaviour problems are 'averaged out', so they are pretty much always great dogs.
