Diogenes : I'm hesitant to label MM hypocritical in this instance as he in the past has always leaked his movies to the internet before the theatrical release. Their are other players involved with large financial interest and very long reigns on power who may be at work here. Moore has a strong history of sharing, and his masters who funded the creation of this may have put forth very strong safeguards to prevent the internet release of this film. Of course, the fact that he can get these corporate giants to fund this film that ideologically opposes them is really something beautiful, just shows how low these corporations will go for profit, selling out even what they believe.

As for Obama puppet, I haven't seen the flick yet, I may agree with you after I've seen it, don't know now though.

I think this is a great sentimental piece, and I agree that the movie industry is too big, so is the defense, prison, education, health care, govt, ... Imagine what would happen if everyone stopped paying taxes, the government might listen Pretty soon now its going to be illegal to say stuff like that, if its not already.

Everything in life is a trade off, unfortunately these days and like many others the majority of the people are feeling the negative end of the pole.

Just study your copyright laws with someone like Lawrence Lessig. You will learn about things like fair use. Fair use was applied to air-checking tunes off the radio with a boombox if I recall correctly. Fair use means for personal use not personal gain. Torrents are not sold, they are given away. It is my opinion that the aircheck principle applies.

And copyright used to be 14 years after which the content was open. Now it's 96 or perhaps more if Disney has say about it. It has nothing to do with punishing Hollywood.

I haven't seen this film, so I won't go so far as to label it enemy propaganda. However it should be noted that the face of capitalism is a handsome family man who is charismatic, likable, dresses well, has a degree from harvard, and gives great speeches -- and of course the spokesman for anti-capital is fat, ugly, talks with a terrible drawl, is awful at giving public speeches (ive seen em), is overly confrontational in interviews, dresses like a slob, has no serious academic credentials that im aware of, so uncharismatic he is almost annoying, whiny, and screws up real communist thought (typically, havent seen this film), and never, ever motivates anyone to take any action other than buying a movie ticket.

So to answer the question, "how on earth does he get movie studios to fund this?" I propose a simple answer, if you are going to have political opposition, and you have the power, you might as well pick the public face of that opposition to be the most likely to be ineffectual. So for a population as superficial and so deeply ingrained with the Madison Ave value system, who better for them to ignore?

So you know what, even though I haven't seen this film, it's enemy propaganda. The most insidious kind.

as for the missing 5 minutes, yeah it's right in the middle, i wouldn't worry too much about it, as far as it seemed, you can clearly WATCH the movie without it.

I'm simply pointing out that he is given access to the means of production, by those who own the means of production, to undermine the unconscious perception of the left in the mind of the slave population.

I don't discuss whether Moore believes what he says, I'm sure he does, and I don't doubt his motives or points. I am only looking at the practical effect of his work, which is inadvertently undermining the cause of social and economic justice.

For example, to illustrate.

I point out that he always is prominently displayed in the films? Don't most documentary film makers show a topic, have a narrator or personality to guide? Especially when they are obese, lack decent vocal cadence, and are generally annoying, and don't they at least put on a decent set of clothes? Yes of course they do those things.

So why do we see his ugly mug all day every day in his movies?

Thanks, finally downloaded. It's what you'd expect for a cam version, and Michael Moore. Half entertainment, half pissing security guards off. He actually brought up quite a bit of disturbing stuff I had not known or heard of before. Unfrtunately nuttin' really surprising.
