Breaking The Silence is an Israeli non-governmental organization of ex-combatants that served in the Occupied Palestinian Terrirories during the second Intifada (since Sept 2000). The organization is dedicated to raising public awareness of the reality in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and to promote discourse and debate over the moral price of being occupiers. These are kids who partake in mandatory 3yrs service in the IDF starting at age 18. They have witnessed first-hand how occupation corrupts the societies of both occupiED and occupiERS and are speaking out at the risk punishment and persecution.
