60 Minutes; Palestine, Israel Two State Solution

This is an edited portion of the CBS 60 Minutes program broadcasted on

January 25 2009. It covers the proposed "Two State Solution" in

Palestine / Israel. To their credit, for once CBS does get to the "Facts of the

Ground" and exposes the grinding daily repression and persecution of the

Palestinian people by the Israel Defense Force. It points out that the

systematic building of illegal Jewish settlements and the presence of the

Israel Defense Force in Palestine / West Bank has made a "Two State

Solution" impossible. The program includes interviews with Jewish Religious

Fundamentalists. In the interviews they clarify that they believe the Palestine /

West bank territories are part of the "Greater Israel" granted to them by God

and that the non Jewish Palestinians must ultimately leave.

The Fundamentalists also point out that the primary purpose of the illegal

settlements is to ensure that an internationally recognized Palestinian State

could never be achieved. ;; ;;
